With exams and assessments just around the corner, another successful academic year is about to come to an end. Before you enjoy a well deserved break with the summer vacations,it gives me great pleasure to once again invite you to our monthly Afternoons With TTF. These are held on a weekday, once each month. The purpose of hosting these sessions is to encourage interaction between teachers from different schools and facilitate exchange of thoughts and ideas. There would be a different theme for each month. They enable focused small group interactions. Therefore the learnings from these sessions would be more personal and internalized. These are free and open for teachers of Bangalore City Schools. Individual teachers can attend any 'Afternoons With TTF' of their choice. The topic for the next session will be:

“ If virtuality is the new age reality with students, should we become a part of it?”

With networking sites becoming the 'need' of the hour and an unavoidable but integral part of our children's growing years, its a reality which is tough to ignore. New demons like cyber-bullying, pressures of social acceptance and a misused freedom of speech are the latest challenge that daunt teachers and schools everyday. In such a scenario, should schools step in and offer supervision? How much is too much when it comes to controlling our students' virtual life? Is befriending students online the right approach?

If these questions and challenges confront you,we are sure you'll find some clarity and  way ahead after the brain storming session in our AWTTF this month. We invite you to share your views with other teachers.
    Date: Thursday 17 March 2011
Time: 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
